The Mere puiestee stop sits on a broad boulevard linking the port area with the city centre. It is one of the busiest tram stops downtown: from here it is a short walk to the Rotermanni kvartal, the Old Town’s Viru värav and the Viru keskus.
The stop is served by lines T1, T5 and T6. Heading into the city centre the routes branch: T1 and T6 carry on to Hobujaama, while T5 turns via Viru towards Vabaduse väljak.
The Rotermanni kvartal occupies the site of a former flour mill and bread factory and is today one of Tallinn’s most interesting architectural quarters — old stone buildings combined with glass-and-concrete additions.
