Sitsi stop — Põhja-Tallinn · Sitsi

The Sitsi stop takes its name from Sitsi street, which in turn refers to “sits”, or cotton fabric. This was the site of the Balti Cotton Mill (Baltiiskaya Manufaktura), which at the start of the 20th century was one of the largest textile factories in Europe and brought thousands of workers to Kopli.

The factory’s red-brick buildings and the workers’ dwellings largely survive. Some of them have now been renovated into offices and flats — the area is an example of how the industrial heritage of Põhja-Tallinn is given new life.

The stop is served by lines T1, T2, T5 and T6. Towards the city centre the next stop is Angerja.
