Vabaduse väljak stop — Kesklinn · Vabaduse väljak

Vabaduse väljak is Tallinn’s main square, home to national commemorations and major events. On the edge of the square stands the glass War of Independence Victory Column, and on the other side Jaani kirik.

The tram stop is served by lines T3, T4 and T5. From the stop begins Harju tänav, which leads into the Old Town, and a short climb up to Toompea via Kiek in de Kök and Lühike jalg.

Beneath the square is a large underground car park, and around it the city centre’s office and retail buildings. Kaarli puiestee and the direction of the Estonia theatre are a few minutes’ walk away.

Tip

From Vabaduse väljak the shortest way up to Toompea is along Lühike jalg — about 10 minutes of climbing, but the view from the Toompea viewing platforms is worth it.

Harju tänav starts right at the square; Raekoja plats is about 5 minutes on foot.

On foot along Lühike jalg or Toompea tänav, about 10 minutes. There is no tram access to Toompea.
