The Kalev stop is on Tondi tänav, in an area named after the Kalev sports society. Nearby are the Kalev sports hall and stadium, which host basketball and volleyball matches as well as athletics competitions.
The stop is served by lines T3 and T4. It is the second-to-last stop before the Tondi terminus.
The area alternates between old wooden houses, Soviet-era apartment blocks and new residential developments.
