An independent guide to the Tallinn tram: who makes it, what data it rests on, and what we deliberately do not publish.
What this site is
tallinntram.com is an independent guide to the Tallinn tram network. We are not connected to TLT or to the city of Tallinn and do not speak for them. The site exists because the whole network changed at once in August 2026 — the lines gained a T prefix, the airport branch reopened after three years and a new line is on the way — while most maps and guides online still show the old network.
How the content is produced
Running times, headways and departures
Straight from TLT’s official GTFS timetable. The first and last departure on a stop page is that stop’s own, not the terminus’s; the headway is worked out per direction — mixing both would halve the number.
Stop order and how the lines run
From the same timetable: the longest real trip in each direction of each line. That is also where the Kadriorg one-way loop comes from (out via L. Koidula, back via J. Poska).
Network changes
Dates and decisions from ERR and the city’s own announcements, not rumour. If something has been announced but is not in the timetable yet, we say so — as with line T6.
Fares
From the Riigi Teataja regulation and tallinn.pilet.ee, with the date we checked them.
Coordinates and photos
OpenStreetMap and Wikimedia Commons. Every photo carries its author and licence, and all files are listed on the legal notice page.
What we deliberately leave out
An unverifiable number is worse than no number, because a reader cannot tell them apart. So we do not publish:
"Real-time" departures
TLT does publish a gps.txt with vehicle positions, but there is no GTFS-RT and no alerts feed. Without those we cannot promise delays or disruptions, and we do not.
A timetable for line T6
The line is not running yet. Its page describes the route as it will open, and says so on every one of its stops.
Stops where no tram calls
Ülemiste jaam is a bus and train stop; trams T2 and T4 run from Majaka põik straight to Ülemiste linnak. The page stays, but says so plainly.
Corrections and contact
If something is wrong — a changed price, a timetable that no longer holds, a new stop — write to [email protected]. We fix it and log it, with the date, on Where the data comes from.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read and paid for by advertising shown alongside the content. Advertising has no influence on what we write: no sponsored articles, no payment to feature a line or a business.
Who is behind this site
This site is run by the team at GoRandom, a small group based in the Basque Country in Spain who do two things that go together better than they sound: travel, and build websites.
We were in Tallinn in January 2025, and the city guide on gorandom.es came out of that trip. We liked it enough to want to go back, and after enough hours spent staring at network maps and comparing travel passes this turned up: a site about nothing except how you actually get around here.
The other half of what we know how to do is web development, and this site is the excuse to put the two together. We do not leave it sitting there: every fare and every timetable carries its source and the date we checked it, and they get revised when the operator changes something. The last thorough revision was in August 2026: the T6 does not run yet, the tram does not stop at Ülemiste jaam, and the last tram is not at 00:10 but at 01:06 on the T4. All three were wrong here.
He decides what goes up, checks the data before it does, and answers the email. If you find a fare that has expired or a timetable that no longer holds, there is a specific person to write to.
