Tram line T4: Tondi – Lennujaam

Line T4 connects the Tondi terminus with Tallinn Airport, passing on the way through Vabaduse väljak, Viru, Hobujaama and the Lasnamäe corridor. It is the fastest and cheapest way to reach the airport from the city centre: from Viru väljak it takes about 20 minutes and the ticket costs the same as any other tram journey.

The airport connection was closed from summer 2023 until July 2026 — first for construction of the Vanasadam tramway, then of the Ülemiste passenger terminal. Services resumed on 1 August 2026; a successful test run was made on 9 July.

The route has 17 stops and a journey time of about 33 minutes. On weekdays the tram departs every 9–10 minutes.

From 1 August 2026: tram line numbers gain a T prefix (1 → T1, 2 → T2, and so on) and the tram runs to the airport again. The old numbers may linger for a while on stops and older maps — the routes themselves stay the same, except for the southern end of T2 and T4.
