Kopli tram stop
The terminus at the tip of the Kopli peninsula, where four of the six tram lines begin and from which it is only a few minutes on foot to the Kopli liinid and the seafront.
Kopli stop — Põhja-Tallinn · Kopli
Kopli is the westernmost point of the Tallinn tram network and one of its two great hubs. At the stop the tram loops around and the lines set off from here: T1 to Kadriorg, T2 to the airport via Vanasadam, T5 to Vana-Lõuna and T6 to Suur-Paala. In practice this means that at rush hour a tram leaves Kopli every two or three minutes, even if the interval of any single line is ten minutes.
A century ago the Kopli peninsula was the heart of Tallinn industry: this was home to the Russo-Baltic shipyard and the Bekker shipyard, and for their workers the famous Kopli liinid were built — a quarter of wooden architecture that fell into ruin in the 1990s and has now largely been rebuilt. Riding the tram here, you can clearly see how a former factory district has turned into a residential area.
From the stop it is about a ten-minute walk to Kopli beach, and a little further on lie the Paljassaare birdwatching area and the Kopli cemetery park. Next to the tram stop are bus stops with connections towards Paljassaare and Kalamaja.
